      <image:title>About - Welcome!</image:title>
<image:caption>I was born and raised in Riverside, CA and received my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University in San Diego, CA. I have had the opportunity to work in various settings throughout San Diego as well as My time working in community mental health settings has helped me develop a vast knowledge of community resources that I will happily pass on to you. While I specialize in a branch of psychology called behavioral medicine, I treat a wide range of concerns, including chronic pain, depression, anxiety, trauma, and life transitions. Additionally, I have a special interest in issues of diversity, particularly working with underserved populations such as Asian Americans and older adults (age 60+). My approach to treatment can be described as collaborative and solution-focused. I use evidence-based practices such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, biofeedback, and applied psychophysiology. Before deciding on the course of treatment, I will take time to gain a better understanding of your concerns as well as the factors that trigger and maintain symptoms. I believe that my eclectic approach to therapy allows me to utilize interventions that match the needs and preferences of my patients, which has been shown to lead to more favorable outcomes.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Our bodies respond to stress by inducing the “fight or flight” response. Biofeedback can be used as a way to help you develop greater awareness of your physiological functioning by using signals from your own body as precursors to emotional and behavioral responses. With biofeedback, you can see how your body responds to stress on a computer screen, which allows you to not only recognize stress earlier on, but also employ appropriate coping mechanisms.</image:caption>
